自国际经济与贸易学院于2010年3月成立以来，学院领导高度重视科研工作，要求教师兼备优质教学和科研创新的责任，紧紧把握学术前沿，积极开展科研工作，取得了显著成效。截至2014年9月，学院教师已在《European Economic Review》、《Journal of Comparative Economics》、《China Economic Review》、《Economics Letters》、《The Economics of Transition》、《Journal of Economic Inequality》等SSCI收录的国际期刊发表论文14篇，以及国内权威期刊如《经济研究》、《管理世界》、《世界经济》、《经济学（季刊）》等发表高水平研究论文近30篇。
